Conservation Volunteers South Coast Conservation Break
Submitted by Daniel Gordon on Thu, 03/03/2011 - 09:47Escape Canberra for a week and join our volunteer team as we head down to the beautiful south coast of New South Wales to continue an ongoing program to regenerate a strip of coastal vegetation along Broulee - A small but historic town which was originally developed as a port for whaling ships and coastal sailing vessels.
Seeing Grasslands
Submitted by Lynton Bond on Sun, 16/01/2011 - 18:38Seeing Grasslands is a project that aims to raise the profile of grasslands and to encourage an interest in this highly threatened ecosystem as well as in nature and photography through community participation, online initiatives and exhibition. It is funded by the 2010 ACT Environment Grants and is administered through the Molonglo Catchment Group. Other non-government groups involved in the project include Friends of Grasslands and Photoaccess.
Adelong Gold Mill Conservation Break

Week long 6 days / 5 nights away project, volunteer contribution $208
Conservation Volunteers has been working to protect the heritage value of this historic town near the foot of the Snowy Mountains since 2008. It was once a centre for gold mining in the area and is home to Adelong Falls and the ruins of Gold Mill Reserve. Volunteers will stay in nearby cabins and will spend the week undertaking various tasks among these ruins to preserve their integrity and tourist value. There will be a variety of jobs which may include repairing dry stone walls, fencing, weed control, and new plantings.
Help Restore Canberra’s Parks—Upcoming CVA weekend projects

We will be removing woody weeds from the park areas, making them a more enjoyable space for people and native wildlife alike. This important project will also help conserve a key remnant of one of Australia’s most threatened ecosystems, grassy woodlands, and the endangered wildflower, the Button Wrinklewort.
