FoMM Tree walk
Local ecologist Michael Doherty will be guiding a Tree Walk through various types of woodlands will culminate at the site with remnant snow gums on Mount Ainslie. You will learn to distinguish between eucalyptus species and find out how trees have adapted to environmental conditions such as soils, fire and drought.

Working bee to prepare planting holes for the National Tree Day community planting and to remove horehound.

Friends of Googong (FrOGS) Working Bee
Working Bee at Tin Hut Dam, located at the southern end of Googong Dam. Take the Old Cooma Road and follow the signs to Burra. Turn left at London Bridge Road and then follow the signs to the birdhide.
World Environment Day 2010 - Walk, Talk & Tea
Celebrate World Environment Day with a walk and learn how the Mount Ainslie Weeders, the Friends of Mount Majura, and the Watson Woodland Group are enhancing the bush environment in three separate areas. Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea and listen to an informative presentation from Dr. Phil Gibbons of the ANU Fenner School of the Environment, who will talk about habitat trees in the area.

Community-based biodiversity monitoring trial in the Molonglo Catchment
The Molonglo Catchment Group has funding to begin developing a community-based biodiversity monitoring program, similar to Waterwatch and Frogwatch. To begin with we need 4 volunteers with sites within the Molonglo Catchment who would be willing to be trained in the Vegetation Monitoring Manual produced by Greening Australia (a half day workshop), and then undertake the monitoring on their own properties / sites.
MGCMN field day - managing weeds in native grasslands
Ever wondered how to selectively remove perennial weeds from among the rich diversity of a complex native grassland ?
This field day, organised by the Monaro Grassland Conservation Management Network, will allow exploration and discussion of the variety of methods and concepts involved in understanding how to manipulate grassland composition to favour native plants over weed species.
