Landholders Bale Up Seed

Back by popular demand, Graham Fifield from Greening Australia displayed his seed collecting skills once again in the critically listed Box Gum Woodland. The host was Bush Heritage who made the 'Scottsdale' Property available and the Kosciuszko to Coast Project faciliator baled up some interested landholders from the region keen to give it a try.

Far away from the shearing shed the landholders baled up empty wool packs with the branches loaded with seed and brought down from the Yellow Box, Candle Bark, Snow Gum trees and other shrubs and forbs. The seed will return to the K2C region after Greening Australia have shaken it clean of nuts and husks.  Seeds gathered will be sown out through potted plants, a direct seeder or thrown about in the form of clay seed balls.  For more information: Lauren Van Dyke K2C Project Facilitator, Ph: 0411 402 978 or facilitator@k2c.org.au or www.k2c.org.au
