MGCMN field day - managing weeds in native grasslands

Date:
29 Mar 2010 - 2:00pm

Ever wondered how to selectively remove perennial weeds from among the rich diversity of a complex native grassland ?

This field day, organised by the Monaro Grassland Conservation Management Network, will allow exploration and discussion of the variety of methods and concepts involved in understanding how to manipulate grassland composition to favour native plants over weed species.

The field day will be held at the Old Cooma Common Grassland Reseve on the eastern outskirts of Cooma, where perennial weeds have been being gradually removed over the last 10 years.

The reserve can be found a the southern end of Polo Flat Road, across from the Carlaminda Road turn off and from the Cooma saleyards.
