Managing horses on small properties - Canberra

Two free seminars on sustainable horse property management will be held by the Molonglo, Ginninderra and Southern ACT Catchment Groups, with assistance from the ACT Natural Resource Management Council.

The seminars are presented by Jane Myers, MSc(Equine Studies), educator and author of the book Managing Horses on Small Properties. The first seminar will be held on Wednesday 21 April, 6 pm - 9 pm at Ainslie Football Club (Antill Room) (Bookings essential - contact Bonnie on 02 6278 3309). The seminar will be repeated on Thursday 22 April, 6 pm - 9 pm at RB Smith Community Centre, (Jim Snow Room), 262 Crawford St Queanbeyan (Bookings essential - contact Andy on 02 6299 2119). Each seminar will cover:

  • Pasture improvement
  • Grazing management
  • Property design and horse facilities
  • Water protection, conservation and supply
  • Manure management
  • Trees and plants
  • Horse health and behaviour
